Haircare bloopers #the tag

I was tagged by Fiona of LoveYourTresses about my haircare bloopers. I've made quite a few mistakes so here goes.
  1. Spritzing my hair. I had been watching loads of youtube videos and I was hooked on hair definition and curl pattern. I had recently bought Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie so I was keen to try it out.  By the way, my hair is extremely thick and corse so unless my hair its dripping wet, definition is a No No.So I lathered up my dry hair and I began twisting, the next morning I woke up to limp strands with barely any definition and my hair style was a hot mess!
  2. Spotty Dotty. Whenever I find a new product that works for my hair I become like a crackhead to coke, I'm addicted. If you have been following my blog for a while you'll know how much I love Castor Oil. Castor Oil is great for thickening up your hair but it's also extremely thick in consistency. As my hair got longer, my twists would fall onto my forehead and break out like no-mans business. It was only after a few weeks when I stopped using Castor oil so heavily that I noticed that my spots started to clear up.
  3. Essential Oils. I'd been reading a lot about Essential Oils and the benefits they have on your hair. I had read loads of articles about Rosemary oil and Sage oil and the benefits they have on stimulating hair growth. My overzealous eager beaverness led me to Holland and Barretts in search on my new hair growth oils. My haste burned my pocket and my scalp and I learned a valuable lesson. Essential Oils need to be mixed with carrier oils in order to avoid scalp irritation. My favourite carrier oil is Coconut Oil. I love the stuff.
I hope you all enjoyed my bloopers, mistakes are made so that we can learn from them.
Happy learning!
