Itchy scalp?

Helen did an absolutely amazing job with my braids. I have had them in for 3 weeks now and they don't look to scruffy! My scalp was getting a bit itchy after 3weeks which is understandable and was in need of a refreshing. I am really trying to cut down on how often I wash my hair as washing my hair with shampoo strips my hair of its nutrients which I then have to reapply. This is not to say that I plan on going months without washing my hair, no. I'm planning on only washing my hair when I have serious build up and my scalp cant breathe lol. Co-washing is a great alternative to not washing your hair, it allows you to remositurize you hair with water and conditioner strengthening your locks. I co-washed my hair this weekend with my usual conditioner, Herbal Essences Totally Twisted and I added 3 drops of Tea Tree Oil and a spoonfull of coconut oil. I chose Tea-Tree Oil as an essential oil as it's great for combatting itchyness and dryness and it leaves your scalp feeling refreshed. Coconut was my carrier oil so my scalp wouldn't burn. Ola actually told me about this treatment as she uses it all the time and she says that she doesnt have to oil her scalp again for 2weeks after this treatment; it really works for her.
Before applying the mix, I spritzed my hair with water and then added my mix to my hair. I did a few chores for about 20minutes and then washed it out and I was met with refreshed clean feeling hair...bliss.
This is a wonderful treatment for anyone who sufferes from a dry or itchy scalp.
If you live in the UK you can purchase 100% pure Tea Tree Oil from Superdrug, Wilkinsons or Holland and Barretts.
