How much do we trust THE stylists

For the past few weeks I've been actively engaging #brownbeauty discussions headed by the ladies of BrownBeauty. I have to say, I've really enjoyed taking part and it's been a great pool of information not to mention a great place for product recommendations.

A few weeks ago we were discussing the topic of salons - I cannot remember the exact title of the discussion but it was along those lines. Many women commented that they had not been to a stylist in a few years due to a butchering they received on their last visit.

This is find totally understandable - a so called "stylist" left you with scalp burns or was too harsh with your hair, why on earth would you want to go back. It wasn't a pleasurable experience and you had to pay for it so repeating this process again doesn't seem that inviting. Plus, with the massive surge of youtube tutorials there's no need to rush to a salon anytime soon. Just spend a couple of hours watching a few videos and dabble in the pool of trailing error - it doesn't have to look professional but passable is ok.

Recently, I've been having the urge to find a good quality stylist. I've blogged about it in the past but I still haven't done anything about it. I really am yearning regular stylist but after a few chats with people I'm finding it very hard to release any sort of trust in any stylist. All these horror stories have slightly turned me off. I've visited a few stylist in the past and they were wonderful but I'm not sure if I want to make them my home - not to mention I'm still holding on to some deeper reservations about hair stylists. [I think that's what holding me back more than anything else].

Ladies please tell me who are you regularly trusting with your precious locks?

Who can you recommend?
